Newsletter delivery

Hiyo. Sorry for not having said much lately, things have kept coming up. Wondering if your bot might be able to deliver the newsletter at Template:WikiProject Christianity/Outreach/April 2009. John Carter (talk) 18:09, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

I will . Do you want to add that our project featured on one of the recent signpost ? -- Tinu Cherian - 19:27, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
Should have thought of that myself actually, particularly adding thanks to Secisek for doing the interview. Do you want to add it yourself, or would you prefer I did it? John Carter (talk) 19:32, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
Can you do it ,plz ? -- Tinu Cherian - 02:56, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
It's been added, and is ready for delivery whenever you're ready. John Carter (talk) 22:26, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
I will do it today -- Tinu Cherian - 04:58, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

The Military history WikiProject Newsletter : Issue XXXVII (March 2009)

The Military history WikiProject Newsletter Issue XXXVII (March 2009)
From the coordinators

The big news of course was the seventh project coordinator election covering the period ending 30 September. The quality of the candidates was extremely high, with some of the project's top content builders running alongside highly experienced backroom people. Of the eighteen candidates, sixteen were finally appointed, giving us probably the most rounded coordination team so far.

Those elected were: Abraham, B.S., Bellhalla, Cam, Eurocopter, EyeSerene, Ian Rose, Jackyd101, Joe N, Lordoliver, Maralia, MBK004, Nick-D, Roger Davies (lead), Skinny87, The ed17 and TomStar81. Kirill Lokshin continues in his role as coordinator emeritus. Thanks must go to the departing coordinators – Bedford, JonCatalán and Woody – for helping make the project what it is today

The C-class referendum, held at the same time, produced a slight majority of votes for introduction, but was insufficient to demonstrate a clear consensus. So, for the time being at least, therefore, the project will continue without C-class. Otherwise, focus is likely be on the Academy and the development of courses to develop reviewing, copy-editing and article-building skills. Some review of our task forces is also probable, perhaps consolidating some of the smaller, quieter, ones. As ever, input from everyone is not only welcomed but positively encouraged.

The coordinators' gratitude goes not only to those who participated in the election and referenda but also to everyone who works quietly and conscientiously away to make participation in this project rewarding, successful and productive. Milhist is very fortunate in its membership! Thank you all,  Roger Davies talk 16:15, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

Massive Tagging Error by Your Bot

A Food and drink banner, and the following message has been placed on every breed of chicken talk page:

    "WikiProject Food and drink Tagging
This article talk page was automatically added with {{WikiProject Food and drink}} banner as it falls under Category:Food or one of its subcategories. If you find this addition an error, Kindly undo the changes and update the inappropriate categories if needed. The bot was instructed to tagg these articles upon consenus from WikiProject Food and drink. You can find the related request for tagging here . Maximum and careful attention was done to avoid any wrongly tagging any categories , but mistakes may happen... If you have concerns , please inform on the project talk page -- TinucherianBot (talk) 07:02, 4 July 2008 (UTC)"

I think that cross categorizing everything in category "Chicken breeds" was a mistake. These are animals not foods (some breeds like Phoenix (chicken) and many others are exhibition breeds, pets, and otherwise not really used for food, or they produce eggs. Additionally, by this rationale if you tag all agriculture articles or all things related to food, food production, or which is potentially used for food you should tag plough, horse, donkey, alligator, soil, garden, dog, cat, and seed. I don't have hours to untag all the chicken articles, please adjust TinucherianBot to undo this crazyness. I will post this on Food and Drink projct page as well. Thanks. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Kenkere, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Samse. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally moving or duplicating content, please be sure you have followed the procedure at Wikipedia:Splitting by acknowledging the duplication of material in edit summary to preserve attribution history.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 10:16, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

    needing an expert opinion

Hi, Tinucherian. As an experienced editor who is familiar with Thiruvananthapuram, you seem to be a good choice to ask about this new article Venkatachalapathy Temple, Trivandrum. There appear to be some dubious statements made -- and I'm not familiar enough with the topic nor the language to parse my google search results. The real problem is that there are no references and requests from the creator have gone unanswered. Could you have a look at it? I'd rather get an expert opinion before PRODding it. Cheers. CactusWriter | needles 06:23, 24 April 2009 (UTC)

It does exists , but I am sure of the notablility criteria for temple. But looks like it is an old temple of which article is worth keeping and yea of course, the article needs cleanup -- Tinu Cherian - 06:34, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the quick response. I did assume it existed (although the wikimapia can't be used as a source since anyone can tag and add info there). My problem is trying to locate any reliable source. I am also unable to find it on simple lists like List of Hindu temples in Keralaoron this list. And, although the article states it, I am quite certain it isn't one of these. Obviously my total lack of language skill puts me at a disadvantage here -- it seems the temples have a multitude of names and spellings dependent upon the translation -- and I can't be certain that I am simply failing to spot it as a name variation. If you come across any source (non-English is fine) that would be great. By the way, let me ask you something for my own personal knowledge: a 100-year-old structure in places like the US might be considered old. But I would think that a temple in Trivandrum or elsewhere in India that is called "one of the oldest" would be centuries old if not over a thousand years. Could you enlighten me about that? Bot error

I think there are some problems with Template:Settlements in Kolar district. Do you want me to go ahead and fix all the repeated villages? Ottre 13:49, 30 April 2009 (UTC)

I am not using a bot for the creation of the articles but some tools like AWB and CSV loader. The repeated villages are villages with the same name in the same district. Once I finish creating the articles , I will disambigate all the names in the template too. Thanks -- Tinu Cherian - 13:53, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
