Requests for permissions |
---|
This page enables administrators to handle requests for permissions on the English Wikipedia. Administrators are able to modify account creator, autopatrolled, confirmed, file mover, extended confirmed, mass message sender, new page reviewer, page mover, pending changes reviewer, rollback, and template editor rights, and AutoWikiBrowser access. Editors wishing to request a permission flag here should do so following the procedure below. Editors requesting permissions are advised to periodically revisit the requests page, as notifications will not always be given after a decision is made. Editors should not expect their request to be answered right away and should remember to be patient when filing a request. To find out what permissions your account has, go to Special:Preferences, where your permissions are listed in the user profile tab under "Member of groups". Requests for permissions are archived regularly; please see Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/Archive for an index of past requests. |
![]() | If this page has been recently modified, it may not reflect the most recent changes. Please purge this page to view the most recent changes. |
Several permissions are requested and handled elsewhere:
If you wish to have any of your permission flags (except administrator) removed, you should contact an administrator. If you want your administrator flag removed, you should contact a bureaucrat.
This is not the place to request review of another user's rights. If you believe someone's actions merit removal of a permission flag, you should raise your concern at the incidents noticeboard.
The bureaucrat, checkuser, and oversight flags are removed at meta:Steward requests/Permissions. Stewards will typically not carry out such requests unless they are made on behalf of the Arbitration Committee, by a user who is requesting their own access be removed, or in cases of an emergency.
To make a request for a permission, click "add request" next to the appropriate header and fill in the reason for wanting permission.
Any editor may comment on requests for permission.
Administrators are permitted to grant account creator, autopatrolled, confirmed, event coordinator, file mover, mass message sender, new page reviewer, page mover, pending changes reviewer, rollback and template editor flags to any user who meets the criteria explained above and can be trusted not to abuse the tool(s). Administrators may either grant these permissions permanently or temporarily. For convenience, a bot will automatically comment with relevant data if the user does not meet configurable qualifications. Even if the bot does not comment, administrators should review the user's contributions and logs to ensure the tools will be used appropriately and check for any indication of potential misuse.
Once an administrator has granted a permission or decided to deny a request, they should add {{done}}or{{not done}} respectively under the request with their comments. If a user already has the requested permission, or is autoconfirmed and requesting confirmed, {{already done}} should be used. N hours after the last comment was made (as specified by the config), the request will be archived automatically: approved requests will be placed here; declined requests will go here. See User:MusikBot/PermClerk#Archiving for more information on archiving functionality.
Requests for permissions is primarily intended for editors requesting a permission for their own account. Other editors are welcome to comment if they have specific information that is relevant to that request that a patrolling administrator is unlikely to discover for themselves. Otherwise, since only administrators can effectively respond to these requests, general comments or 'clerking' by other users are rarely helpful. Non-administrators cannot "decline" to grant a request, because they're not in a position to accept it.
A limited exception to this is Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/Autopatrolled, where third party nominations are encouraged. Other editors should still avoid offering general remarks on requests and leave the final decision to an administrator.
Hello, I have created 100+ articles, primarily focused on television series. And I plan to keep doing the same. Thanks for your consideration C1K98V (💬 ✒️ 📂) 08:51, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'm interested in more easily finding and fixing minor style issues etc. in articles. Please note that I've done the vast majority of my editing on my previous account Gawaxay.

I wish to use AutoWikiBrowser for making otherwise-tedious edits to replace widely-used raster images with vectorized equivalents. ⇒ Zhing-Za, they/them, 22:13, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, I’m Chidera with username Dera xoxo. My Reason for requesting extended confirmed rights is that I want to contest for the WPWP campaign but I can’t do so on English Wikipedia because I don’t have up to 500 edits on English Wikipedia. I do have more than 500 edits on Igbo Wikipedia and I am very familiar with adding pictures on Wikipedia pages, I’ve done this on both IG Wikipedia and En Wikipedia. I can’t join the WPWPIG campaign because the IG list has so much traffic for the past 3 days so I haven’t been able to access it so I want to join the WPWPNG campaign and contribute to English Wikipedia. I know almost all requests made are declined but I’d really hope you look into this and grant me access since I’m an experienced editor who would love to join the WPWP Campaign. Thank you! Dera xoxo (talk) 18:12, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have more than 6000 edits as an editor over a time period of around 3 years. I have created several pages which I continue to maintain and have participated in processes like Request for moves and closures as well. Iv taken initiative in Anti-Vandalism work. I can help reduce the backlog. >>> Extorc.talk 14:00, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I’ve reviewed pages on the new pages feed. In fact, I have sometimes CSD or redirected (because it’s a duplicate article) before NPRs, please consider me. 48JCL 12:44, 18 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I want to reduce the massive backlog. I have been looking at the new pages patrol feed sporadically for the past two months and the backlog keeps increasing. I want to play a part in reviewing the articles. HRShami (talk) 11:19, 21 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. I would like to request an extension of my temporary NPP rights. Though I haven't been as active as I expected, I still reviewed some articles and participated in the May drive (thanks for the barnstar). I enjoyed the experience and would like to continue helping out whenever I can. Thanks for considering my request. '''[[User:CanonNi]]''' (talk • contribs) 08:14, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'd like to help reduce NPP and AFC backlogs. I've read the terms and rules. Evilfreethinker (talk) 10:45, 26 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'd like to help out with NPP considering the backlog, and now that I've created a few articles I feel like I'm ready. Suntooooth, it/he (talk/contribs) 18:44, 26 June 2024 (UTC)\[reply]
I was given a two-moth extension about two months ago, and I wanted to apply now for full-time approval to be a new page reviewer. I have been active in AfDs, and, as suggested in my temporary approval last time, I have reviewed many more pages than the first two months of my reviewership. All of the AfDs I have created have spawned genuine discussion, and I have also approved several new pages that pass the standards of WP:GNG and WP:SIGCOV. I feel as though I have done enough to earn full-time approval, but I would appreciate any approval the admins are willing to give. I enjoy this work, and I enjoy helping clean up Wikipedia. Thank you for your consideration. Anwegmann (talk) 00:08, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I want to contribute to Wikipedia in good sense and review new pages which provides good information regarding to the topic Dr.AyushBhardwaj (talk) 09:09, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I am confident in my ability to review new articles and drafts, as evidenced by my global contributions and user rights. Some of the articles I have worked on and created include "Biniverse: The First Solo Concert," "Cherry on Top," and "Kyedae," among others. I believe I have the potential to make a valuable contribution as a page reviewer. Acrom12 (talk) 14:37, 30 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Reason for requesting new page reviewer rights
As an experienced Wiki editor, I am requesting new page reviewer rights to help maintain the quality and accuracy of new pages. Your approval would allow me to contribute more effectively to wiki community. SparrowQ (talk) 18:30, 30 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have been a long-time editor on this site for 7 years with lots of experience creating articles and participating in AfD discussions. I plan to use this permission to help clear the backlog and provide feedback to editors for their new articles, regardless of whether their article is notable or not. KingSkyLord (talk | contribs) 12:26, 2 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have experience in creating new articles, AFD, and CSD. In addition, I am aware of meeting WP:MOS and WP:N. I am interested in helping out the very large articles backlog
. Also, I got an invitation to apply last year. Lastly, I am a very experienced Wikipedia editor. — YoungForever(talk) 14:02, 2 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've had previous experience, had it on trial period for a month during the back-drive, and I feel like I can especially do more. Noorullah (talk) 11:14, 3 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have made over 3.4k edits over a span of 4 years, have made over 87 different articles, and participate actively in AfD discussions (I'm not sure of the exact number, but its' over ten.) I want to be able to participate more in the AfC branch of Wikipedia. Sir MemeGod ._. (talk - contribs - created articles) 06:15, 6 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I was granted a one month trial for NPR right back in December but unfortunately life got in the way and I went on a long hiatus before I could finish the trial. I'd like to re-request a one month trial (if my performance then was considered satisfactory) as I now have time to contribute to the project again. Fermiboson (talk) 16:53, 6 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have been editing for over 7 years and I plan on using this permission in order to help with discussions on WP:RM and deal with cross-redirects for articles that should have more disambiguated titles. KingSkyLord (talk | contribs) 12:46, 2 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This user right will be super useful to me for moving unsuitable articles to draft space (eliminating the need to tag the resulting redirect with R2), dealing with articles created by new users in the wrong namespace (that I come across a lot as a vandalism patroller), and performing a round-robin move on two pages (that I try to fix occasionally when an editor copy-pastes an article). I've familiarized myself with the guidelines for moving and the article title policy. Ae245 (talk) 08:05, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've been actively editing in different topic areas (mainly politics/civics) on Wikipedia for a few years and have created some new article pages. In this time I have gained a strong understanding of Wikipedia guidelines and would like to apply that to review edits to articles to identify vandalism / inappropriate edits. CrazyPredictor (talk) 01:30, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Good day! I am requesting rollback rights to speed up the process of reviewing recent changes. I meet the mainspace edit count requirement and have been patrolling recent changes for over month. My track record of reviewing shows that I can quickly and effectively differentiate between vandalism and good faith contributions. Thank you. Garsh (talk) 17:39, 7 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I am requesting rollback rights after making regular efforts towards combatting vandalism and disruptive editing. After previous denial, I sent messages in the users talk page multiple times as norms. Hope, the rollback permission able me enough to fight against vandalism edits on Wikipedia. Pinakpani (talk) 07:22, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I am heavily involved with editing route diagram templates and adding new items to template:rail-interchange, with a special focus on rail lines in France for the upcoming 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris starting later this month. I have made multiple edit requests there in the past, and very recently after refamiliarizing myself with the process, I've started to do it again. I would like the ability to edit that template directly so I don't have to rely on others to do it for me. Jackdude101 talk cont 07:46, 8 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
