Adding a new AfD discussion
Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Olympics|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
Other types of discussions
You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Olympics. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.

There are some mentions on online newspapers of her being paired with Nada Daabousová in the synchronized swimming competition at the 2016 Summer Olympics, but I could not find any in-depth coverage of Labáthová herself that would pass WP:GNG. Corresponding article on Slovak Wikipedia is an unsourced stub, which may help copy over English article otherwise. No news about Labáthová have been reported since then either. ⋆｡˚꒰ঌClara A. With only database source listed, the article of this luger certainly fails WP:GNG. All that came up in my Google search were an interview and trivial mentions; no indication of independent fact checking. Corresponding Czech Wikipedia is an unsourced stub, which might help copy over English article otherwise. He was not even one of the top three luge winners at the 2010 Winter Olympics. ⋆｡˚꒰ঌClara A. Weak keep I added a full-length biographical profile as reference, so WP:SPORTSCRIT #5 is now fulfilled, which was the main concern of the nominator. Given the depth of this profile, it is likely a lot of coverage can be found in the sources (likely offline) of the years when he was active. @XabqEfdg: did you perform a WP:BEFORE?Broc (talk) 21:11, 24 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Delete: Not enough WP:SIGCOV from reliable, independent sources to meet the WP:GNG. There are recent articles about him being inducted in the HOF of his school, but that is mostly local coverage which is still not notable enough. Prof.PMarini (talk) 07:55, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

That leading Australian newspaper archive Trove brings up NOTHING for "Ted Pierce polo" has me suspect that he was known under some other name or something. I also think that there's a good chance there's sigcov in Water Warriors, a 600-page book chronicling the Australian Olympic water polo team, especially given that he seems to have been one of the more prominent players as he was chosen for three Olympics (heis mentioned in the book). Trove is extremely limited from 1954 onwards. And this guy was in the 1956, 1960 and 1964 Olympics. Using online newspaper sources for this era in Australia is useless. WP:THEREMUSTBESOURCES should have a comment on what to do when there are copyright or similar corporate subscription imposed online blackouts. The-Pope (talk) 15:32, 19 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Keep: Although there isn't abundant information about him online, he's a three-time Olympic national and that's significant. I've been able to find three mentions of him on a Dubbo local newspaper and I'm sure there's more to be found in media that's contemporary to his participation in the Olympics. Weak Keep. I noticed there's a source in the article - offline - from the Sunshine Coast Daily newspaper that is titled "Triple Olympian prefers a 'dry' sport these days". That seems almost assuredly detailed coverage of him. Considering the difficulty in finding sources for the period, that this man competed at three Olympics and is covered in the mentioned book, and that there's another offline source that we know is of him, I end up "weak keep".
