ジェフ・ダウンズ︵Geoffrey Downes, 1952年8月25日 - ︶は、イングランド・ストックポート出身のキーボディスト。
経歴
1979年、﹃ラジオ・スターの悲劇﹄がヒットしたバグルスのメンバーとして音楽シーンに登場。その翌年、バグルスのもう一人のメンバーであるトレヴァー・ホーンとともにイエスに加入︵イエスとバグルズが同じマネージメント事務所に所属していた関係があった︶。1980年にイエスのアルバム﹁ドラマ﹂でキーボードを担当。イエスのメンバーとして欧米をツアーするものの、ツアー終了時にイエスは解散。イエスのスティーヴ・ハウと共に1981年にエイジアに参加し、ファースト・アルバム及びシングル﹁ヒート・オブ・ザ・モーメント﹂が大ヒットする。その後、他のオリジナル・メンバーが次々に脱退し、ダウンズはエイジアの唯一のオリジナル・メンバーとして中心人物となった。 1986年、スティーヴ・ハウが参加したGTRのアルバムをプロデュース。 2005年、ジョン・ウェットンとウェットン・ダウンズWetton/Downesを結成、アルバム﹃ICON﹄を発売した。 2007年にエイジアをオリジナル・メンバーで再結成させ、現在もこの編成のエイジアで活動中。 2011年にイエスに再加入。アルバム﹃フライ・フロム・ヒア﹄を発表し、イエスのメンバーとしてツアーに参加。ディスコグラフィー
