ジョージ・ソーンダーズ︵George Saunders、1958年12月2日 - ︶は、アメリカの小説家、児童書作家、エッセイストである。シラキュース大学教授。彼の作品はザ・ニューヨーカー、Harper's Magazine、McSweeney's 、GQに掲載されている。

1994年、1996年、2000年、2004年に、National Magazine Awardsフィクション部門を受賞した。

1997年、オー・ヘンリー賞Second Prizeを獲得した。

彼の最初の短編集であるCivilWarLand in Bad Declineは、1996年にPEN/Hemingway Awardにノミネートされた。

2006年には、マッカーサー・フェローから奨学金を授与された。

2006年、短編小説CommCommで世界幻想文学大賞を受賞した。

2007年、短編集In Persuasion Nationは、The Story Prizeにノミネートされた。

2013年には、PEN/Malamud Awardを受賞し、短編集Tenth of December: Storiesが全米図書賞小説部門にノミネートされた。
