As you suggested, I made the kind of edits I think you were suggesting on the Interracial Marriage page, where Gass Gess had inserted the same material inserted in the pages listed above. My changes were promptly reverted by a well-meaning editor, Takeaway. I don't want to get into an edit war about this, so I am trying to discuss it with Takeaway on my talk page. I'd appreciate any and all of you weighing in about this either on my my talk page, or on Takeaway's.

The article Kuching you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needing to be addressed. Hey there. Well, honestly I didn't actually intend to get GA for the article earlier. My intention was to make the article better and provide good information that serves justice on the city. Now, though, seeing that it is slowly moving towards GA-Class, I guess the only way is to move forward. Anyway, at which point can the article be nominated for GA? I'll try to improve on the article by looking at KK, Kuching, and Tawau. I hope KT will pass the all the requirements soon. Fikku fiq (talk) 11:29, 25 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Vectorising complex logos

Hi Muffin Wizard, is there any good guide on the internet on how to convert complex logo images such as [[this https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Seal_of_Kuala_Lumpur.svg] into vector images? When I tried to use Inkscape to trace the jpg/png image of my logo into a vector, but the resultant vector image will always have their outlines distorted/become irregular. This is obvious especially the small words presented inside the logo. Another problem is when I tried to convert the image background into a transparent background by using "convert to alpha" function (by using GIMP), any white colour inside the logo will also become transparent. Any help is very much appreciated, thank you.Cerevisae (talk) 22:47, 25 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Muffin Wizard, thank you for welcoming me to Wikipedia. I look forward to making whatever small contribution I can. Arjons (talk) 11:07, 26 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

OnKuala Terengganu: Contents

Hey there. Here're some things that I can say about the article.

Images: You said that KT should have more images. Well, I can only do so much when it comes to images. There are not so many images related to KT, so most of the time, I tried to upload my own photos. So, putting more images in the article will be quite hard.

History: When it comes to the three paragraphs that you've asked about, the first two indeed refer to the history of Terengganu as a whole, but there's no Wiki article on History of Terengganu. In Malay Wikipedia, there is one, but obviously like quite a number of Malay Wiki articles, references are almost absent. I think the idea of the paragraphs is that KT was indeed the centre of Terengganu at that time. The third paragraph has relations to KT since it talks about Bukit Puteri, a small hill in the city which houses the throne of the sultan during the war. KT is the royal town of Terengganu. For the Japanese occupation, KT and the entirety of Terengganu was colonised by the Japanese. Not so many things happened around that time, except that the Japanese controlled Terengganu, and KT was still the capital during that era. Fikku fiq (talk) 11:24, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

To be honest, it's not me who wrote the 'History' section of KT (hahaha), but I'll see what I can do for that part. Also, I've expanded the economy section a bit so that it covers the situation now. Fikku fiq (talk) 13:39, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Based on my experience, I don't think this section is located in Kuala Terengganu Fikku fiq (talk) 13:03, 10 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
That I cannot say for sure. Just like the history section says, Chinese people knew about the existence of Teng-ya-nung (and I read about that before somewhere), but there's no definite year or date for the founding of Kuala Terengganu itself (although it does exist before the 18th century, and for many scholars, the word Teng-ya-nung itself actually refers to the Terengganu River mouth or the present location of the city), but I will try to search for the information if it's possible. Anyway, I like the new montage for the infobox, but uhhh Kuala Terengganu Lighthouse is not really a building of importance. It's just built as a beacon for ships, and it's a fairly new thing too. Maybe you can crop the photo of Terengganu Museum from the old montage and replace the lighthouse? At least the Museum has a valid connection to the city haha. Thanks ^^ Fikku fiq (talk) 11:47, 11 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hey there, I just looked at the other articles on Malaysian cities and when I compared a lot of those articles with Kuala Terengganu (except the articles for KK, Kuching, and KL or course), I think KT is significantly better than most. Maybe you can rate it again? Hahaha~ Other articles lack references and are quite short (not that length determines the quality of course, I understand that), but are rated as B-Class article. I hope you can check them out ^^ Thanks Fikku fiq (talk) 13:17, 11 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hey there. I probably will omit the part with the unreliable sources as I can't find suitable one, but could you point the dead links to me? I've been looking and I couldn't find any haha. Thanks. Fikku fiq (talk) 06:25, 8 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
What else do you think we can add or edit? Or do you think we could just let the article stay that way, because I can't think of anything else. Sources are given to major points, so I hope there's no problem with them. Fikku fiq (talk) 13:35, 13 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

That's ok. I myself also been busy lately because I have entered MRSM and it's been pretty hard on me living in a hostel. This Tuesday will be the standardised test and I barely can't find free time there. Not sure if I can stay longer there :P Anyway, thanks a lot! -- MalaysiaboyChat 12:50, 2 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

lel xD Actually, instant noodles, smartphone and laptop are unallowed to bring there v_v and the time schedule there is really tight and packed. I only get 6 hours of sleep. We were curious on what happen to the outside world during the GST implementation. All of us are outdated there… Missed editing Wikipedia and Wiktionary already <3 -- MalaysiaboyChat 01:47, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I just got home yesterday and I'm at home as today is a holiday till this Sunday. Yesterday busy taking the NSC quiz and hoping that I manage go to the next round. Woke up late and currently watching Korean drama xD I'll be editing a few hours later. Every Sunday, I can come back home from 9 am - 3 pm. -- MalaysiaboyChat 04:03, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It's a national-level quiz based on Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Science, Biology, Physics and Chemistry >< Yesterday was the preliminary level. Hope I made it and idk about the April Fool prank. So, that was the fuss my dad dealing about :P The school is near with my house. My school college is good and all but I find it hard to get use with it. Luckily, they still use English for Science stream subject. Still busy preparing and packing for school… -- MalaysiaboyChat 06:47, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Congrats for completing your work ^^ Not only English, Malay has been also a concern nowadays. There's still some Malay doesn't speak it well besides the other races. I was one of them. During Year 2, I got 50% something in Malay while I got 100% in English XD but sooner or later I manage to balance both of the language and I'm also worried about the range variety of Sabahan languages exist. Some of them are already extinct. I'm hoping that I could be a linguist in the future but still not sure… -- MalaysiaboyChat 11:55, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Since contributing to Wiktionary, I see the beauty of language and it needs to preserve it. Actually, linguistics is a branch of science (according to QuizUp) and usually when people ask about my ambition I say scientist or doctor. I want to lexicon languages into a dictionary so that it would not end up to extinction. In my place, most people have more than 2 language acquisition and a great number of Malay able to speak Chinese from mixed race marriage, school etc. Well, since I'm in Science stream, idk if my dream could come true… -- MalaysiaboyChat 12:55, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

That's what Wiktionary are for c: -- MalaysiaboyChat 06:58, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Sure but I guess I will start gathering offline sources during the holidays. Sometimes, I feel regret with my decision of going to MRSM… -- MalaysiaboyChat 13:30, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I guess so except the botak part because it doesn't really strict when comes to hair. It's mostly because of the Internet D: I could only touch my beloved laptop every Sunday. And I really don't like boarding school in the first place… -- MalaysiaboyChat 00:49, 5 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks and sorry

Hi Muffin Wizard,

Thank you for the barnstar. I feel a bit bad that you sent it to me just as I was leaving for a brief holiday, making it feel very undeserved. Nonetheless, I am back in the real world now so I hope to live up to it. Arjons (talk) 11:46, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) flag

Hi Muffin Wizard, About the flag of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, I have some input for the improvement of the flag. Here are some links showing real life usage of the flags: 123, 4. This flag has many variations but the variant used by the MILF always has the sword face away from the moon and crescent. Plus the hue and other elements needs some tweaks. The uploader of the original file is from the rival rebel faction MNLF and I believe MILF's version is more "correct" since it is their flag. Thank you for vectoring the flag of the MILF--Hariboneagle927 (talk) 19:08, 18 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

On the talk page you have assessed the article under GA category while I have posted it for a formal review of the GA process. I don't know if you have gone through the review process before giving the GA rating. If not please go through the review process and if it qualifies all the prescribed criteria then only you can give the GA rating. Hence you may like to formally go through the review process as prescribed. Thanks .--Nvvchar. 10:14, 23 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It may take some time to appear on the language link. However, for me it is not too much of a concern because the article is already a GA article. Congratz again Fikku fiq for adding another GA article related to Malaysia! :-) Cerevisae (talk) 09:33, 14 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Malaysians

Hello!

Based on 2010 census, Malaysians includes citizens, permanent residents, non-citizens, refugees. In another words, any person residing in Malaysia more than six months (excluding tourists for short vacation) may identify themselves as Malaysian. As a results, 30 millions population is counted without excluding non-citizens. If we excluding non-citizens and overseas Malaysian/diaspora (do not reside in Malaysia more than six months) from Malaysian population, I am sure that less than 20 millions is Malaysian citizens who really residing in Malaysia at the time of census. Malaysian people is not equally same to Malaysian citizens because to gain citizenship is another story. Foreign-born people may gain Malaysian citizenship by registration and naturalization. In short, the Burmese who residing (legally or illegally) in Malaysia still subject to Malaysian law, so it is undisputed words for Burmese to be considered Malaysian. It applies to any foreign-born people who live in Malaysia. Alexander Iskandar (talk) 11:12, 10 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Let me ask you why 2010 census counts 271,899 non-Malaysian citizens as part of the Malaysian population. Why does the Malaysian population do not excluding people who reside in Malaysia more than six months but being a permanent residents, temporary residents, illegal workers, refugees, prisoners, aliens, and any kinds of non-citizens. If we just only count Malaysian citizens as Malaysian, how about Malaysian citizens who study abroad, work abroad or live abroad. Do the Malaysian diasporas who leave Malaysia for more than six months are prohibited to identify themselves as Malaysians and being excluded from the census?? Template:Ethnic groups in Malaysia

Why have you been endorsing what Alexander Iskandar (talk · contribs) has done to the Malaysia template? The user just removed Malaysians from the template and put the Malaysian Chinese and Malaysian Indian into Immigration to Malaysia which redirects to Illegal immigration to Malaysia. This is not fair as these people did not illegally enter Malaysia they have been living in Malaysia for centuries. This is also not fair for the many other ethnic groups listed in this template as they too did not enter illegally. The template appears to be pushing a political agenda through the removal of Malaysians which discusses many different ethnic groups living in Malaysia and the inclusion of the titles "Recognised indigenous peoples in Peninsular Malaysia" and "Recognised indigenous peoples in East Malaysia" if any title should be used it should be just be Bumiputera becuase these titles seem to be implying that non native Southeast Asian people are not recognised by the government of Malaysia when they in fact are. The template should be restored to how it originally was becuase Alexander Iskandar had no right in changing it, there was not even discussion on the talk page regarding whether it was to be changed or not. (124.180.199.116 (talk) 09:56, 22 October 2015 (UTC))[reply]

@124.180.199.116: This can be fixed, no need to change the template design. I would try to separate the Malaysians with Bumiputera and non-bumiputera sides, while for the non-Malaysians would be set to Expatriates, refugees or illegal immigrants. Thanks for brought this to my attention, sorry for not giving a lot of attention to this as I'm busy with other topics. Just give me some time. ~ Muffin Wizard ;) 10:03, 22 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@124.180.199.116: It is done now, thanks for reporting! ~ Muffin Wizard ;) 10:12, 22 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for doing that. I also think including Malaysians should be included like before. I am going to add Sri Lankans In Malaysia as they are mostly Tamils who have been living in Malaysia since the colonial days. (124.180.199.116 (talk) 10:17, 22 October 2015 (UTC))[reply]
@124.180.199.116: You're welcome. Malaysians has been added per your request. ^^ ~ Muffin Wizard ;) 10:43, 22 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Well it seems quite ironic that the template was changed at the time when Najib Razak had said that the Malaysian Chinese are "sons of Malaysia". You do not have to take an authoritative tone "Hey, listen here.. "! The English you have used is not even correct! The Citty and Penangite Indians are not even found nationwide they are only found in peninsular Malaysia. If you claim Cham people are not recognised why are they in the Bumiputera section? I believe that the template should just be one without seperate tabs. It can say Bumiputera and included all bumpiutera ethnic groups but also within the same tab state all non Bumiputera ethnic groups and then all the other immigrants. refugees etc. Then at least it benefits both parties. Yes you did fix it but grouping them all into one template without seperate tabs would be good. Don't you believe that they are all Malaysians at the end of the day?(121.214.123.48 (talk) 00:37, 23 October 2015 (UTC))[reply]
See, who is trying to have a political motive here "Well it seems quite ironic that the template was changed at the time when Najib Razak had said that the Malaysian Chinese are "sons of Malaysia". You said the English I'm using not even correct, well that can be fix soon by copy-editing editors and you also make a wrong typo by spelling "separate" to "seperate". The "Penangites, Chitty and Baba Nyonya" can be fixed by separating it into new section below the "nationwide". Of course I need to give an "authoritative tone" when you continuously reverting other edits without replying my discussion on your talkpage, remember both bumiputra and non-bumiputra are still a "Malaysians", they are not outsiders even when the Malaysian government adopt this policy. ~ Muffin Wizard ;) 00:49, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
About the Cham, did you read the Cham people article? That's why there is a note beside it as there also some of them who has migrate since the Malay sultanates era of Malacca and Kelantan instead of the current refugees who fled during the Vietnam War. ~ Muffin Wizard ;) 00:57, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I know I used the wrong spelling of "seperate", but I did not care to change it. I am not trying to push a political agenda here, I was only highlighting the irony of this whole debacle. Honestly, I think one template without several sections should be created. Do you want to do that? Don't you also believe that information about the diaspora should be included in Malaysians? Maybe also some information about the three main ethnic groups? I could help you, Muffin Wizard, in doing that? (121.214.123.48 (talk) 00:58, 23 October 2015 (UTC))[reply]
I know you actually doesn't intend to be involved in this nonsense debate, but yeah it is hard to classify this especially when Malaysia has a Bumiputera and non-bumiputera policy just like the Myanmar ethnic groups template which only allows a selected numbers of ethnic groups as their main natives. Of course, you can include the information of Malaysian diaspora into the Malaysians article rather than removing a lot of information as you did on that before. ~ Muffin Wizard ;) 01:10, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Okay then Muffin Wizard. Yes that is true I did not want this to happen. I made a few changes to the template, I gave reasons for the changes. :) I will also add the information about the diaspora too. Oh and are the Kristang referred to as Bumiputera or not? Like the example you provided for Ethnic groups in Myanmar, do you think combining all elements of each tab into one will be good just like the ethnic groups in Myanmar template where there is a heading for each one, "Bumiputera", "non-Bumiputera" and then "Expatriates, refugees, illegal immigrants etc."? (121.214.123.48 (talk) 01:17, 23 October 2015 (UTC))[reply]
Thank you for giving your co-operation on this. Sure you can, I think they were bumiputera based on several sources [2], [3] just like the Siamese people [4] although "some quarters" denied this. Btw, let's see if you can make it and I want to see the example. ~ Muffin Wizard ;) 01:28, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Okay then, I'll try but I'm finding it hard to do it. :( (121.214.123.48 (talk) 01:37, 23 October 2015 (UTC))[reply]
That's why this thing gives me a lot of headache and stress as the template code was not easy to deal with. To design it also need to press that "preview" buttons for a lot of times. Why don't we just leave it on the current design? @_@ ~ Muffin Wizard ;) 01:42, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I did it! ^_^ I combined the two together. It took some time but I eventually got it. I saved it so you can see it. However it does not say Bumiputera :( I will try again later to add it in but this is how it looks like at the moment.

(121.214.123.48 (talk) 02:43, 23 October 2015 (UTC))[reply]

Thank you so much for helping! Now you understand how hard it is to improve any templates as well articles in this online encyclopaedia named Wikipedia. :D ~ Muffin Wizard ;) 02:50, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Are the Peranakan Chinese Bumiputera too? (121.214.123.48 (talk) 02:53, 23 October 2015 (UTC))[reply]
Haha yes it is very hard, do you think the template is alright? I'll try adding Bumiputera later on. (121.214.123.48 (talk) 02:54, 23 October 2015 (UTC))[reply]
I will check on that later. Until 2012, they are not. But from some news sources [5], [6], the Peranakans (Baba Nyonya) have tried to applied for Bumiputera status, but I don't know the latest update on them whether the government accept it or not. ~ Muffin Wizard ;) 03:17, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Alright then thank you Muffin Wizard. Do you still think Bumiputera should be added or do you think it should be left? It still distinguishes between who is bumiputera and who is not though the inclusion of the heading, non-Bumiputera. (121.214.123.48 (talk) 03:30, 23 October 2015 (UTC))[reply]
You're welcome, it should be maintain per Malaysian present government policy. I have include it in one section with bumiputera (which have been separated with the header you have put). I think that is not a big problem when readers just need to click once to see the whole Malaysian ethnics. Seems fine now. ~ Muffin Wizard ;) 04:26, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for doing that. Yes I think that'll be okay. :D (58.164.113.12 (talk) 06:55, 23 October 2015 (UTC))[reply]

I moved the Template:Ethnic groups in MalaysiatoTemplate:People of Malaysia. If you see Template:Ethnic groups in Canada, the template is redirected to Template:People of Canada. Template:People of Canada does not separate between citizens and non-citizens. They sort the Canadians by continent and sub-continent. I think it is a good example to be followed. How about you? Alexander Iskandar (talk) 16:39, 27 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

To separate Malaysian by bumiputera, non-bumiputera, refugees, illegal immigrants and ets make the template looks complicated and may cause unneccessary debate, who is Bumiputera, who is not, why they are Bumiputera, why they are not, that people claim they are Bumiputera, other one uncomfortable with Bumiputera agenda policy.. I think we should be neutral and just sort Malaysian by continent regardless they are citizen or not. At the end of the day, the readers only wants to explore what ethnic groups exists in Malaysia when they see the template. I don't know about government's recognization and stands towards refugees but we should treat all people who reside in Malaysia as Malaysian. They also pay taxes, subjected to Malaysian laws and have to loyal to YDPA. No discrimination should be allowed if we want peace and harmony. Alexander Iskandar (talk) 16:39, 27 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Alexander Iskandar: Even me doesn't intend it to be separated between bumiputra and non-bumiputra, but due to the "government policy" who separating them as well there is so many error with the template. For example when it is talking about List of Malaysians, you should not using it as "header" when there is no content to show. Furthermore, all the ethnic groups include in the Canadian templates have at least the "Canadian" word at the end of the name, for example Manx Canadian, Basque Canadian, Breton Canadian etc. Isn't we should have our own country articles to differentiate it from the main race of their respective country for example like the refugees of Acehnese peopleAcehnese Malaysian, Daai ChinDaai Chin Malaysian, Jingpo peopleJingpo Malaysian, Rohingya peopleRohingya Malaysian??Moro peopleMoro Malaysian??? Believe me, there is going to be more work need to done on the template after you change it, you should not just leaving it like that. ~ Muffin Wizard ;) 20:35, 27 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Could I ask was it you who added Stanley Tang's name on the members list as a adopted son? I have spoke with Sultan Muedzul and this is not the case. The only adopted son is myself and HM the Sultan has confirmed this and I have the papers to prove this. The other person is my spouse who automatically receives the Dayang Dayang title as she is legally married to me.

issues with template edit warring

reverting a warning, and calling it abusive, fails to see the way you both are resolving your differences of templates. I fail to see how you both can actually resolve the issue, someone else can deal with you both in your template arguments, If it is how you want to resolve the issue, then make sure you try to build consensus rather than regularly reverting each other, as the process by which you are resolving the issue looks to an outsider like an edit war with requires a warning, and in the event giving warnings through the three levels seemed to be a redundant process in view of a template being so regularly changed. JarrahTree 23:33, 27 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@JarrahTree: Seems you have a misunderstanding here when you said I have an edit war with Alexander Iskandar. Probably when you saw my revert to the previous IPs who also editing the template as well with my latest revert to AI. I want to tell you that both the IPs and AI are a different person. The IP ever reporting me on AI contribution as you can see on my discussion with him above. Edit wars only applies when the revert has exceed more than three between a same person. While I'm just reverting AI contribution once, you have mistakenly considered that I have a conflict with AI. Supposedly, before you leave me a warning you should see that ever I revert AI contribution more than once before? This is the first time I revert only one of his edit and you considered this is an edit war, clearly you have sent an improper warning to me and that's why I'm reverting your notice. I'm also never calling it as "abusive" like you mention above. ~ Muffin Wizard ;) 01:12, 28 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
OK so for an outsider trying to understand why the templates are having such a weird edit history, and what I could not see anything like a reasoanble discussion as to why it was all going on, I must have mis-read edit history, my apology.

I just hope a good resolution occurs without external intervention being required. JarrahTree 10:09, 28 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It's okay :) apologies accepted, yeah I understand this misunderstanding started when AI leave the message on your talkpage ^^ ~ Muffin Wizard ;) 10:18, 28 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Happy Children's Day!

Happy Universal Children's Day!
Hi@Muffin Wizard::
The day had come to celebrate our little ones and enhance their childhood with joy and laughter. This kind of day will be the time for us to reflect our own childhood and just bear in mind that age is a number and just keep moving forward with our life (\ ^_^ /) -- -- MalaysiaboyChat 12:05, 20 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm back from school college and exam... Actually on last Tuesday. I have left out many things and I see that you are sick :o How are you and are you ok??? I hope that your health issues are not that really serious. I myself am having a runny nose -- MalaysiaboyChat 12:05, 20 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hehehe Well, probably suprisingly just homesick literally :o I have told my friends the wonder of Wikipedia and some of them are kinda attracted. Hope they find their way with this twisty twist :P Too bad that I missed a lot around in this Wikipedia ;c Who knew that Wikipedia will turns 15 next year. Currently, I try to edit school-syllabus-related articles so that I keep my mind on track. I do say, it's really tough battling with fellow geniuses there. I see that Sandakan had got its GA. Hoorah! Congrats for your achievement ^^ -- MalaysiaboyChat 13:10, 20 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Well actually, since MRSM mostly for the Bumiputeras, so most of the smarties are the Dusuns. Hard to compete with them. At least got my pointer more than 3.5 Well, I try to contact with my friends, probably having a meetup perhaps 😄 -- MalaysiaboyChat 13:55, 20 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Well yeah. Even though the college is just 3 yo. I found it ridicule. Although, the juniors have told me that the room that Im living is once have 'superstitious' activity but I do seems kinda feel the 'thing'? :o I once jump out of my bed late at night because of the loud thunder and I cant sleep back there. Then, my phone rang and it was my roommate's number. Everyone was fast asleep and I dont have the courage to pick up the phone. Ahh!!! Sounds silly of me :p -- MalaysiaboyChat 14:23, 20 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
lel. Great! Spooky stories in the middle of the night. The one thing we wanted :p Kk. I hope I dont have nightmares. Wait. I mean we c: Nite nite /) Tmrw I'll start editing a lot10 -- MalaysiaboyChat —Preceding undated comment added 15:08, 20 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Bot automation at Wikipedia:Today's articles for improvement

Greetings WikiProject TAFI members!

Over the past two weeks, there has been extensive discussion on introducing bot automation to assist with maintenance of the Today's Articles for Improvement project. A bot has now been approved for trial and will carry out the weekly duties. The bots first run will occur around 00:00, 22 November 2015 (UTC) (midnight on Sunday).

If you have been assisting any of the weekly maintenance tasks, please refrain from doing so this week. The bot needs to be tested and proven it can do the job, and it only gets one chance per week. The tasks will include:

Updating the accomplishments and archiving selections is still done manually, along with daily tasks such as adding approved entries to the articles for improvement page. These will become automated in the near future.

We hope the bot proves to serve well, and by carrying out the routine housekeeping tasks we can boost the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the project. MusikBot thanks you for your service in helping with the weekly tasks in the past, and for your cooperation during this trial period :)

Malacca City montage

Hey Muffin Wizard. I love the compilation for Malacca City but maybe you could change the Hang Li Poh Well with something more representative of the city? Jonker Walk maybe? That's just an idea haha. Thanks. Fikku fiq (talk) 16:49, 24 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. User:Gass gess

I just want to say thanks to you, Phoenix7777, Zanhe, and DaTraveller for reverting most of this person's edits. And thanks to User:Vir Novus, Sprucegrouse, DarkestElephant, Ergative rlt, and VQuakr for reverting some of their edits also.

It looks like edits on some pages like Racism in Australia, Chinese Peruvian, Mauritian of Chinese origin, Chinese Jamaicans, Demographics of Guatemala, Eurasian (mixed ancestry) and probably more still need to be reverted also, but excluding the new edits of other users. Vivexdino (talk) 06:44, 27 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, many thanks to all. I'm very happy to know you're all on top of this. I will try to tackle the Eurasian (mixed ancestry) and Chinese Jamaicans entries this weekend. Sprucegrouse (talk) 12:24, 28 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I reverted this user's changes to Chinese Jamaicans, Miscegenation and Interracial Marriage, which largely consisted of dropping the same irrelevant text in multiple places. Not sure I picked up everything, though. Sprucegrouse (talk) 16:50, 28 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'd appreciate any and all of you weighing in about this either on my [talk page], or on Takeaway's.

You're welcome guys, but I'm still suspecting the user is related with "one user" which I ever met before based on the "citation style" he or she used when contributing. But I don't want to accuse anyone without a strong proof (although still feeling "some connection" between it). ~ Muffin Wizard ;) 05:05, 30 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
