Omega1 Cygni, Latinized from ω1 Cygni, is the Bayer designation for a solitary[14] star in the northern constellationofCygnus. It is visible to the naked eye with an apparent visual magnitude of 4.94.[5] Based upon an annual parallax shiftof2.59 mas,[8] it is estimated to lie roughly 1,260 light years from the Sun. Relative to its neighbors, this star has a peculiar velocityof25.7±2.2 km/s.[7]

This is a somewhat evolved B-type subgiant star with a stellar classification of B2.5 IV.[4] Telting and colleagues report it as a Beta Cephei variable with a high degree of confidence as they found regular pulsations in its spectrum in a high-resolution spectroscopy study published in 2006.[6] Its brightness varies irregularly by 0.034 magnitude every 1.137 days.[15]
