I have went to Java and Malaysia, I think there is a misnomer. Javanese bakmi Jawa is different from Malaysian Mi Rebus/Bakmi Jawa. Perhaps Mi Rebus is called Bakmi Jawa because it is sold by Javanese immigrants, but it is definitely different from the authentic Javanese Bakmi Jawa. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rosa lilian (talk • contribs) 04:56, 20 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Mi rebus and bakmi jawa are different. Mi rebus is only occasionally found in Indonesia. I live in Singapore for 6 years and Jakarta for 25 years. I know they are not the same. In Singapore, there are foods called mi Bandung, Bandung drink, mi Rebus/mi Jawa, mi Siam (Thai), Indian Rojak. But you won't find them in Bandung, Java, Thai or India. The naming are just for marketing purpose.

Mie kuah → Mee rebus – This page was originally created as mee rebus, then renamed to mi rebus to reflect its proper name in Malay or Indonesian languages, but perhaps does not comply with WP:ENGLISHPLEASE since this is the English language Wikipedia. It was unilaterally moved without discussion or consensus in 2019. According to talk page history, previous editors have expressed concerns and disagreements over the proper naming convention for the page so it should not have been done unilaterally. No evidence provided in any of the cited sources that "Mie kuah" is the WP:Commonname of the mee rebus/mi rebus/mie rebus dish according to modern usage for an international readership. At least one editor asserted that this is not a common dish in Indonesia. I formed a view that this is as a clear violation of WP:NPOV and an attempt to push a nationalist POV. Therefore, this article should be moved back to Mee rebus. Haleth (talk) 08:59, 17 March 2021 (UTC). Haleth (talk) 14:36, 30 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
