In the Varieties section, someone put “Citation needed” for the passages “chocolate is also used, which works to counteract the heat of the chili peppers,[citation needed] but its flavor does not dominate”, “Even though the holiday [Cinco de Mayo] is not much recognized elsewhere in Mexico,[citation needed]”
Does a basic statement about human flavor need a citation, and a fact that is recognized by anyone outside the United States need a citation? Does the Wikipedia article for Chili Peppers need to cite that “Chili peppers are widely used in many cuisines as a spice to add "heat" to dishes”? Does the Wikipedia article for Hanukkah need to cite “Hanukkah is a relatively minor Jewish holiday [outside of North America]”? Even scientific journals do not need to cite every obvious fact about basic human senses or common knowledge - why should there be a citation due to likely a biased American adding something due to a potential lack of flavor and knowledge outside of the United States? 90.106.183.185 (talk) 22:03, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Just kidding, but we should much more clearly lay out the various kinds of mole, things thate are/aren't mole (like pipian, which I don't really think is mole but is related). Allan Nonymous (talk) 04:04, 26 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
