The taste of the fish.[edit]

http://www.taxidermy.net/forums/FishTaxiArticles/03/e/03D1889017.html

I personally think that if you eat fish like this, then you should be ashamed. But hey. 19:14, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

As a food[edit]

I didn't find much on the nutritional value of the fish, which is what I was looking for. Is it a fatty fish/lean fish, prone to mercury, lots of omega3?? Any info would help the page out. --Karuna8 15:04, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orange Roughy is probaly the tastiest fish I have ever had! Light flavored and firm textured, it is quite sweet and resembles crab meat.209.203.93.53 (talk) 13:03, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Poisonous?[edit]

Is this fish poisonous? I heard from a certain game that it's one of the most poisonous fish in the world RAM (talk) 08:00, 28 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Considering that the Fact Core also claimed that Edmund Hilary climbed Everest accidentally while chasing a bird, and that one of the typical breakfasts prior to 1912 was scrambled rocks, I think it's best to take much of [what the Fact Core says] with a pinch of salt. Myuphrid (talk) 02:04, 16 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Location of Newfoundland[edit]

This article suggests that Newfoundland is in the western Pacific Ocean: "It is found in ... waters of the western Pacific Ocean (off southern Newfoundland)..." Isn't this completely wrong? Or am I missing something? 18.96.6.20 (talk) 04:01, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that parenthetically citing Newfoundland Island as being and island in the Pacific is completely bogus. I am going to be bold and change it! Msa11usec (talk) 19:00, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proper Names[edit]

Before you go changing "Slimehead" back to "slimehead", I would point out that since "Slimehead" is a proper name, it should begine with a Capital "S". --209.244.30.253 (talk) 20:10, 17 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have reverted your edit. See this guideline. --Epipelagic (talk) 21:48, 17 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion[edit]

Could it be applicable to offer up a section on "references in popculture" even though that this is indeed a real organism and object? as in Portal 2, it could be funny to mention that the "fact core" refers to the orange roughy as "completely poisonous" Just thought it'd be a quaint add onNice2835 (talk) 21:05, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I love eating orange roughy[edit]

I love eating orange roughy, and I wonder why there's no descriptions of it as a culinary item in the page. OH I BET I CAN GUESS! I will work on this and add it, I'm sure noone would have a problem like that. Also probably best ways to cook/prepare. Coming soon! Mercster (talk) 08:51, 8 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
