So, who invented the first veggie burger? I can recall hearing of tofu burgers as early as the 1970s. They were mentioned in "Ruthless People." Morningstar Farms might be added to the list of popular vburgs. Flatulence concerns are not addressed, lol. This page could be linked from "soybean" or "borborygmus." Agriculture and ecology could be mentioned, such as huge soy surpluses.--Badmuthahubbard21:16, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose though it is called "veggie burger", many of these burgers are not actually made of vegetables, rather it is made from vegetative matter and fungi, a "vegetarian burger" for vegetarians. "vegetative" and "vegetarian" is not the same as "vegetable", so the proposed name is wrong and misleading -- 65.92.246.142 (talk) 04:40, 29 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose. They're called "veggie burgers". I don't think I've ever seen or heard "vegetable burger". I have seen "vegetarian burger", which I assume is the origin of the name "veggie burger". The veggie burgers in my local pub contain cheese, which is arguably vegetarian, but definitely not a vegetable. Maproom (talk) 09:08, 29 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose. Not only is "veggie burger" the common name, the patty in the burger might not necessarily be made of vegetables. JIP | Talk10:15, 29 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
