Essay[edit]

This article is unencyclopedic and reads like someones essay. --Ezeu 23:28, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yep. And it never even says what waxy corn is. It needs lots of work. MatthewBurton (talk) 03:44, 4 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I concur. Unencyclopedic. Much of it sounds like a narrative instead of factual statements. That said, there is a lot of valuable information in it but the way it is presented is highly questionable. --F. Would the title "Asian corn" be more suitable?[edit]

At farmers markets in California this is known as Asian corn. Given that this variety of corn is popular in Asian and southeast Asian cultures, would the name Asian corn be more suitable than waxy corn?

For the time being I've created redirects for both "Asian corn" and "Chinese corn" to here (Waxy corn).

--F. Pacifica 21:54, 23 August 2015 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fpacifica (talkcontribs)

Asian corn appears to be less commonly used, although perhaps not in Californian farmer's markets. Asian corn can also mean the 'baby corn' that is often used in Asian dishes, so renaming this article to the less clear and less commonly used term would likely cause more confusion than it'd solve.
