Tian'anmendong [1] simplified Chinese : 天安门东站 ; traditional Chinese : 天安門東站 ; pinyin : Tiān'ānmén Dōng Zhàn Wade–Giles : Tʻien1 1 2 1 4 station on Line 1 of the Beijing Subway . It provides the most direct access to many Beijing tourist sites, including Tiananmen Square , the Forbidden City , and the National Museum of China .
Location [ edit ]
The station is located on the eastern side of Tian'anmen Square and next to the north entrance of the National Museum of China . During major events hosted on the square itself, Tian'anmenxi and Qianmen are occasionally closed in conjunction with this station.[2] [3] [4] [5] [6]
Station layout [ edit ]
The station has an underground island platform .
There are four exits, lettered A, B, C, and D. Exit B is accessible.[7]
