This message was sent to all administrators following a recent motion. Thank you for your attention. For the Arbitration Committee, Cameron11598 02:20, 4 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
ArbCom would like to apologise and correct our previous mass message in light of the response from the community.
Since November 2018, six administrator accounts have been compromised and temporarily desysopped. In an effort to help improve account security, our intention was to remind administrators of existing policies on account security — that they are required to "have strong passwords and follow appropriate personal security practices." We have updated our procedures to ensure that we enforce these policies more strictly in the future. The policies themselves have not changed. In particular, two-factor authentication remains an optional means of adding extra security to your account. The choice not to enable 2FA will not be considered when deciding to restore sysop privileges to administrator accounts that were compromised.
We are sorry for the wording of our previous message, which did not accurately convey this, and deeply regret the tone in which it was delivered.
For the Arbitration Committee, -Cameron11598 21:03, 4 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for adding the ISCC-NBS colors to color infoboxes. I wonder, where do you find these? Is there some online app that calculates the name? I'd like to know what are the ISCC-NBS names for many Pantone colors. ANDROS1337TALK 01:08, 20 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, in general, for your edits on color articles. There's lots to do, and too few editors interested in working on them, so I appreciate you involvement.
That said, I'm puzzled about this edit
I had removed Aero blue from List of colors: A–F on the basis that the underlying article wasn't acceptably sourced, and you have provided a source. However, the source has the RGB triple (192,232,213) while the article has the triple (201, 255, 229). Is it as simple as that you found a source, but simply forgot to update the value? I can update the values in Shades of cyan and restore Aero blue to the list article, but I wanted to make sure we are on the same page, so to speak.--S Philbrick(Talk) 15:05, 21 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Bumm13, I just noticed this edit: [2]. Could you tell me if there's some guideline/discussion that WP:NOTBROKEN doesn't apply here? Hello, I recently ran into a dispute with Tupac Huang on the article Tertiary Color.
It happened when I manually reverted a edit that I thought were inaccurate since the color names were changed to something not related to some of the colors (Gold, Scarlet, etc). They undid my edit saying that their renames were more reliable and started a discussion about this to my talk page. It turns out that the user is using a original website/image source by an online user named HughLaurie1959, who looks like to be a friend of this user. I tried giving them sources and links to help pages about why this is against the Wikipedia guidelines. Another user under a IP address ended up commenting on our discussion saying that their source is still reliable. I’m assuming that this is the same person, but not logged in. After I’ve tried to restate what I said, they didn’t give me a response.
I don’t know what to do or what more to say because this is my first time I’ve been in something like this. I would like to undo what they have done, but I have a feeling that they will revert it back to their old edits and might result in a edit warring. Actually those 666 colours missing are your useless opinion. Colourname6+ will add 5 greys making it 1800 colours usable for 7. Hi!
You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.
When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.
Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.
If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribetothe weekly technical newsletter.
We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.
Thank you. /Johan (WMF)

:Yeah Bumm13, this has nothing at all to do with us. Between this thread and this, you're gonna stop the WP:IDIDNTHEARTHAT WP:NOTGETTINGIT, and the pretending that you can't read MOS:OVERLINK, implying that you didn't know it's your solemn duty to uphold the MoS, implying that you didn't know how to propose changes to the MoS at its Talk page, or taking it out on us. You aren't waiting for anything. You immediately got the only discussion there is ----> one link to MOS:OVERLINK with a giant neon "MOS:OVERLINK" sign atop a skyscraper encircled by airplanes pulling streamer signs saying "MOS:OVERLINK" under a flying circus of drones that animate the letters of "MOS:OVERLINK". You can turn right on around, revert any of your violations that might remain in this encyclopedia, and take your war against the MoS over to Wikipedia_talk:Manual_of_Style/Linking because there was and is nothing to say to us. When ya get there, I don't recommend passive-aggressively mocking the MoS instead of maintaining it. Waxworker could graciously do your job for you better, with finer grained reverts of other people's mass messes, but we thank you for having already started doing your job there. There's nothing else to say, so game over, for here. — Smuckola(talk) 23:32, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
