    Epidemic[edit]

    Just added the plot Epidemic (film)

    [edit]

    Just wanted to point out that the current task force logo displays the flag of Faroe Islands that's an autonomous part of Denmark. I can't tell if it's a mistake but since its Nordic cinema task force, perhaps there should be the Flag of Finland instead. So either we should fix the log or get another one instead.--Termer (talk) 21:15, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

    If a better replacement exists, I'm happy to consider it. Girolamo Savonarola (talk) 21:30, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

    DYK[edit]

    Just a heads up: The Nordic Cinema Task Force scored a main page "Did You Know..." item here with A Victim of the Mormons (picture included). I was wondering if someone could take a look and see whether the article approaches a B class? Thanks CactusWriter | needles 09:08, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

    Suggested films?[edit]

    I wanted to add some requested films for this Task Force, but I first wanted some input from everyone about taking a more methodical approach here. I suggest that we first concentrate on knocking out the redlinks on these lists: List of Danish submissions for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, List of Finnish submissions for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, List of Icelandic submissions for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, List of Norwegian submissions for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, List of Swedish submissions for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, Bodil Award for Best Danish Film, Edda Award for Best Film, List of Amanda Award winners#Best Film (Norwegian), List of Guldbagge Award winners for Best Swedish Film, List of Jussi Award winners for Best Finnish Film. The non-existent lists should, of course, be created first. This approach could make certain that we cover a solid base of Nordic films that are unquestionably notable and appeal on an international level -- at least, with regards to the contemporary Nordic cinemas -- before popping in a lot of random films of lesser or questionable notability. What does everyone think? CactusWriter | needles 11:47, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

    You can also centralize the requests by adding them to the appropriate parameter in the template within the To-Do section.

    Girolamo Savonarola (talk) 17:33, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

    You could add this one to the list The Nordic Council Film Prize. It's still missing the candidates from 2007 and 2008.--Jóhann Heiðar Árnason (talk) 21:22, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    Yes, that is a good list of titles to knock out. I've updated it to include all of the current titles. And, per Girolamo's suggestion, have added those titles (as well as the missing award lists) to the task force to-do table. CactusWriter | needles 09:17, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    Does anyone know any plausible sources for the Academy Award submissions from Finland and Norway? I created the article for Sweden some time ago and had to use all kinds of peculiar sources and its still not complete, but for Finland and Norway I'm not sure even where to start looking. Smetanahue (talk) 22:29, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

    Resources[edit]

    I added a few resources to the task force page. Let me know if they are of any use, and I'll try to see what else I can find. Should we include {{cite book}} templates of print resources? —Erik (talkcontrib) - 22:55, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

    Swedish help[edit]

    Hello. Anyone here speak Swedish and able to tell me if any of these new stories http://news.google.se/news?hl=sv&q=%22L%C3%A5t%20den%20r%C3%A4tte%20komma%20in%22&ndsp=21&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=in could be usefully used to expand this article Let the Right One In (film). I think it's got a shot at GA class with a little more info. Ta. GDallimore (Talk) 13:19, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

    This is a notice to let you know about Article alerts, a fully-automated subscription-based news delivery system designed to notify WikiProjects and Taskforces when articles are entering Articles for deletion, Requests for comment, Peer review and other workflows (full list). The reports are updated on a daily basis, and provide brief summaries of what happened, with relevant links to discussion or results when possible. A certain degree of customization is available; WikiProjects and Taskforces can choose which workflows to include, have individual reports generated for each workflow, have deletion discussion transcluded on the reports, and so on. An example of a customized report can be found here.

    If you are already subscribed to Article Alerts, it is now easier to report bugs and request new features. We are also in the process of implementing a "news system", which would let projects know about ongoing discussions on a wikipedia-wide level, and other things of interest. The developers also note that some subscribing WikiProjects and Taskforces use the display=none parameter, but forget to give a link to their alert page. Your alert page should be located at "Wikipedia:PROJECT-OR-TASKFORCE-HOMEPAGE/Article alerts". Questions and feedback should be left at Wikipedia talk:Article alerts.

    WP 1.0 bot announcement[edit]

    This message is being sent to each WikiProject that participates in the WP 1.0 assessment system. On Saturday, January 23, 2010, the WP 1.0 bot will be upgraded. Your project does not need to take any action, but the appearance of your project's summary table will change. The upgrade will make many new, optional features available to all WikiProjects. Additional information is available at the WP 1.0 project homepage. — Carl (CBM · talk) 03:43, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

    Unreferenced living people articles bot[edit]

    User:DASHBot/Wikiprojects provides a list, updated daily, of unreferenced living people articles (BLPs) related to your project. There has been a lot of discussion recently about deleting these unreferenced articles, so it is important that these articles are referenced.

    The unreferenced articles related to your project can be found at >>>Wikipedia:WikiProject Film/Nordic cinema task force/Unreferenced BLPs<<<

    If you do not want this wikiproject to participate, please add your project name to this list.

    Help finding reviews[edit]

    Greetings! I am currently seeking reviews of the anime series Ginga Legend Weed. Of course, I recognize that it isn't a film, (and I will try that Wikiproject), but I am not familiar with review websites outside of English-speaking and a few German-speaking ones. Also, this series (well, its prequel at least) is quite popular in some of the Nordic countries. As such, I felt this might be a nice place to start. Some background: it was definitely released in Sweden, Finland, and Denmark. Possibly Norway, but I only have seen one unsourced, offhand comment. It received different names depending on the region; Denmark ("Weed", licenser: Scanbox Entertainment), Finland ("Weed", licenser: Future Film), Sweden ("Weed: Silver Fang's Son", licenser: AudVid). Alternatively, it may be called "Ginga Densetsu Weed," its original Japanese title. Any help would be greatly appreciated! WhiteArcticWolf (talk) 02:54, 9 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

    Anyone got any input on the discussion here? --Rob Sinden (talk) 08:13, 27 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

    Women's History Month is in March[edit]

    Hi everyone at WikiProject Nordic cinema!

    Women's history month is around the corner, in March, and we're planning the second WikiWomen's History Month.

    This event, which is organized by volunteers from the WikiWomen's Collaborative, supports improving coverage about women's history during the month of March. Events take place both offline and online. We are encouraging WikiProjects to focus on women's history related to their subject for the month of March. Ideas include:

    • Improving coverage aboutNordic women filmmakers, actors, directors, producers, and executives
    • Developing content about women owned Nordic film businesses

    We hope you'll participate! You can list your your project focus here, and also help improve our to-do list. Thank you for all you do for Wikipedia! SarahStierch (talk) 21:50, 19 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

    Notability question[edit]

    I've tagged Takigaks – Once Were Hunters as having doubtful notability. It's a student documentary film, shorter than 1 hour, that's been shown at a few film festivals. It doesn't seem like a notable article to me, but I'd like someone from this group to take a look at it, and then either remove the tag (after adding some generally plausible explanation of its notability) or else PROD or AfD it. Thanks! --Slashme (talk) 20:07, 26 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

    As the author of the article, I’d like to say the following:
    • This is *not* a student film; the director has two academic degrees, one in anthropology from University of Copenhagen, an other one in documentary film making, from a prestigious film schoolinMoscow, both obtained prior to the completion of the film;
    • This is an award winning film, as you can see from the article;
    • This film was shown twice on the Finnish national TV channel YLE 1, and thereafter for one month in their web service;
    • This film got rave reviews in the Finnish media, in several newpapers and magazines, as you can read in the article, in direct quotes;
    • This is not merely a Nordic film, as the subject matter relates to the Russian Far East with special relevance to the adjacent state of Alaska, an therefore to the US.
    • The category of films shorter than one hour is not relevant for this discussion, an Oscar is awarded every year (since 1941) to a film in a similar category. You might note that a Finnish film was nominated for an Oscar in the most recent Academy Awards in 2013, likewise in a category of short films. Apanuggpak (talk) 23:22, 26 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

    Olsenbanden[edit]

    I feel like this topic needs to be fixed a lot. I think it's rather odd that both the Norwegian and Danish film series are covered in the same Olsenbanden article. I think this is a prett poor way to go about it.★Trekker (talk) 05:57, 6 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

    Request for information on WP1.0 web tool[edit]

    Hello and greetings from the maintainers of the WP 1.0 Bot! As you may or may not know, we are currently involved in an overhaul of the bot, in order to make it more modern and maintainable. As part of this process, we will be rewriting the web tool that is part of the project. You might have noticed this tool if you click through the links on the project assessment summary tables.

    We'd like to collect information on how the current tool is used by....you! How do you yourself and the other maintainers of your project use the web tool? Which of its features do you need? How frequently do you use these features? And what features is the tool missing that would be useful to you? We have collected all of these questions at this Google form where you can leave your response. Walkerma (talk) 04:24, 27 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
