ブルー・デモン︵Blue Demon、1922年4月24日 - 2000年12月16日︶は、メキシコのプロレスラー、俳優。本名アレハンドロ・ムニョス・モレーノ︵Alejandro Munoz Moreno︶。ライバルであるエル・サント とは幾度にもわたって伝説的な試合を繰り広げ、サント同様多数の映画に出演した。ニックネームは﹁青い悪魔﹂。
養子はブルー・デーモン・ジュニア。
経歴[編集]
1922年、アレハンドロ・ムーニョス・モレーノはヌエボ・レオン州において、農家の十二人兄弟の五番目として生まれた。モンテレイで長らく鉄道関係の仕事に就いていたが、たまたま出合ったローランド・ベラの影響でルチャリブレに興味を持つようになる。ベラはムーニョスにルチャの技術を授ける一方で、のちに彼のトレードマークとなる青いマスク︵ただし当初は無地︶と﹁ブルー・デモン﹂のリングネームの産みの親ともなった。 アレハンドロ・ムーニョスは1948年3月31日アメリカテキサス州ラレドでデビューした。そして同年6月、青地に銀の線を入れたマスクを身につけ、ブルー・デモンとして登場する。その後EMLLの代表サルバドーレ・ゴンザレスにスカウトされ8月にアレナ・メヒコに登場。ブラック・シャドーの弟と称してコンビ﹁ロス・エルマーノス・シャドー﹂を結成し、当初はルードとして戦っていた。 終生のライバル、エル・サントとの接触はこのタッグ活動に起因する。1952年アレーナ・メヒコにて行われたマスカラ・コントラ・マスカラ︵双方のマスクをかける試合︶形式の試合で、サントはブラック・シャドーを破る。その後サントと対戦したブルー・デモンはこれに勝利し、敵討ちを果たすと同時に1953年にはNWAウェルター級王座を獲得する。ここにルチャリブレ史上最大のライバル関係が始まると同時に、サントと双璧をなすカリスマ的ルチャドールが誕生することとなった。 その後テクニコに転向。1972年にWWWF︵現在のWWE︶に出場。 1988年にモンテレー・アリーナで引退。2000年に心筋梗塞で死去。獲得タイトル[編集]
