メルヴィン・レフラー

メルヴィン・レフラー ︵Melvyn P. Leffler, 1945年 - ︶は、アメリカ合衆国の歴史学者。専門は、アメリカ外交史・冷戦史。ヴァージニア大学歴史学部エドワード・ステティニアス記念講座教授。

コーネル大学を卒業後、1972年オハイオ州立大学で博士号を取得。国防総省長官府出向の外交問題評議会研究員︵カーター政権︶などを経て現職。

ノーベル研究所研究員、ウッドロー・ウィルソン国際学術センター研究員、ヴァージニア大学教養部長︵1997-2001年︶、オックスフォード大学客員教授︵2002-03年︶、アメリカ合衆国平和研究所上席研究員︵2004-06年︶などを歴任した。

1993年、著書A Preponderance of Powerでコロンビア大学よりバンクロフト賞を受賞した。
