Kafran (Persian: كفران, also RomanizedasKafrān; also known as Kafrūn and Keiron)[3] is a village in Rudasht-e Sharqi Rural DistrictofRudasht District, Varzaneh County, Isfahan province, Iran, serving as capital of both the district[4] and the rural district.[5]
At the 2006 National Census, its population was 2,349 in 645 households, when it was in the former Bon Rud DistrictofIsfahan County).[6] The following census in 2011 counted 2,381 people in 748 households.[7] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 2,679 people in 887 households. It was the most populous village in its rural district.[2]
In 2021, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Varzaneh County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with Varzaneh as its capital and only city.[4]
