The State of Kerala consist of 14 districts, 27 revenue divisions, and 78 taluks. A revenue division is positioned below the district and encompasses several taluks within its administrative purview. Each revenue division is headed by a Revenue Divisional Officer or a Sub Collector, who is also the Sub-divisional magistrate and assisted by Senior Superintendent among others.[1]
