Ethics[edit]

Could a sensible section on the ethics of this supermarket be added perchance? Despite winning awards recently, Walmart are embarking on a 'chip-away' policy to worker's rights.

Ownership[edit]

Hi - Various editors keep changing the "parent" in the infobox to the Issa Brothers (or their consortium). Walmart is still the owner pending regulatory approval and the sale concluding. If editors are of a different view please raise it here rather than constantly changing it to the Issa Brothers. Thank you. Dormskirk (talk) 16:22, 3 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The 'Notes' tab should be removed[edit]

In my opinion, the 'Notes' tab should be removed if no information is added to it as in my opinion it is pointless having an empty tab contained within the article. Xboxsponge15 (talk) 00:30, 31 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed and removed. Dormskirk (talk) 01:20, 31 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Splitting proposal[edit]

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section.

I propose that the section about Asda's history be split into a separate page called History of Asda. This section is large and well-sourced enough to make its own page, can be expanded upon, and it rather large. Lewcm Talk to me! 23:07, 3 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose It is very unusual to split out history sections for UK companies and I don't think it is necessary here. Also much of the existing history section appears overly long as it is written in single sentence paragraphs which does not comply with WP:PARAGRAPH, which says "One-sentence paragraphs are unusually emphatic, and should be used sparingly." In my view, the section should be condensed rather than split out. Dormskirk (talk) 23:25, 3 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
My apologies, I wasn't aware of that. I've decided to withdraw my proposal, and I'll have a look at working on that section per your recommendations, thank you! :) Lewcm Talk to me! 11:29, 4 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
