Rax

[edit]

There some stuff on Rax in some google sites when I checked. You should also find some articles on their business there a site that has news Rax about going back 25 years the site is called: www.findarticles.com. One site has the old restaurants it's called: www.columbustour.com/rest-history/chains.html. More Rax info can be found at www.highbeam.com. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.12.116.67 (talkcontribs) 02:20, 11 December 2005

Midwest?

[edit]

I wouldn't really call West Virginia and PA the "midwest."

Where can I find a list of all of the Rax Restaurants still open?

Trying to confirm the following story (if I was certain, I'd just edit the article directly), but:

http://orig.thestarpress.com/blogs/ECIBizBlog/2007/07/rax_fading_into_oblivion.html

Quote: "Rax slips further into oblivion with the planned closing Saturday of the Rax in Richmond, which is believed to be the last Rax in Indiana."

Now, granted, the article doesn't call the Anderson Rax the last one in Indiana, but my point is that if the linked article is correct, the Anderson one should be referred to in the past tense.

Plus: Seconding the above comment: Does anyone know of a list of Rax's that are still open? Now that the ones I know about are gone, I'm sort of feeling nostalgic. :)

Heres a list of locations as of May 2006: http://web.archive.org/web/20060503155058/www.rax-online.com/raxlocations.htm. It was outdated even then. I believe many of them are now closed, and some that are open now are not listed there (like the Bellefontaine one). And some phone numbers are incorrect. That's the last version of the page available before Rax's websites were abandoned.
As for Anderson, IN, according to this page (http://www.nathandiehl.com/2007/05/14/clifty-falls-and-madison-ind-vacation-review-part-4/), the Anderson location was at least open in May 2007. AndrewSP 05:38, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rax dissolved?

[edit]

I recently made a trip back to Ohio State for the Thanksgiving holiday. It seems that Carpediem Management based in Chillicothe, Ohio [1] located at a former Rax in Chillicothe is torn down for a White Castle. Do you considered that Rax is officially no more? I mean there is implacations that we everyone can use the logos with free use. Spongefan (talk) 02:57, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I used to love Rax when I was a little kid. I live in the Pittsburgh area, and I've been travelling alot through Ohio and West Virginia as part of my work, and I haven't seen one Rax during my travelling. There used to be at least one within my travelling distance, so I was also curious as to whether or not Rax was defunct. The Anderson store is still open. It is not part of the franchise, as far as I know. The owners there have said for years they specifically own that store and are not connected with the rest.

Requested move 26 August 2016

[edit]
The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: moved. (non-admin closure) Regards, Krishna Chaitanya Velaga (talk • mail) 15:02, 3 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Rax (restaurant)Rax Roast Beef – While I acknowledge that the WP:COMMONNAME is just "Rax", it requires disambiguation, so it would better be a WP:NATURAL one. Their website is http://raxroastbeef.com/, "Rax Roast Beef" is the complete text on their logo, they refer to themselves as "Rax Roast Beef" [2] and the RS refer to the chain as "Rax Roast Beef" often enough to be used as a suitable title [3][4]. The current disambiguator is also misleading, as it is not a single restaurant but a restaurant chain. No such user (talk) 09:09, 26 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Krishna Chaitanya Velaga: Thanks for the close, but you didn't actually move it – since the target redirect was blocked, you had to either mark it with {{db-move}}, or perform a WP:SWAP move if you had the "page mover" permission. I've done that myself. No such user (talk) 09:50, 6 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Rax's own website is inaccurate

[edit]

According to raxroastbeef.com there are 7 locations plus one in Chillicothe OH "coming soon." Actually the ones in Georgetown OH and West Union OH listed on the website are closed. Leaving just the ones in Circleville Lancaster and Ironton OH, plus Joliet IL and Harlan KY. 184.14.201.224 (talk) 15:14, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

The [9] source provides no information on specific menu expansion. While I understand there is rumor about items such as pizza or chinese food being added, further information is needed to clarify. I have visited 3 of the 5 remaining Rax Locations and there has been no such mention of these items ever existing. Please update source and possibly an image, I can't find any after a year of looking. Willyb24 (talk) 17:44, 26 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
