Is anything added to root beer to make it foamy?[edit]

A rhetorical question... the article mentions this five or six times when it probably only needs to be mentioned once or twice. Stub Mandrel (talk) 23:06, 14 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yucca/yuca[edit]

This article says Yucca and yuca are used for foaming but like, both Yucca and cassava/yuca are different so this article needs to be consistent on that. One of them is wrong I guess it's either one or the other 2806:2F0:6120:853C:D5E6:A74F:E3B8:793B (talk) 12:07, 21 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed. It was yucca. Kornatice (talk) 17:46, 21 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If you look in the archives you'll see this has come up before. Might be worth looking through the history to see who is doing it and whether it looks like a long-term vandal, or maybe just someone who thinks it's spelled wrong and "corrects" it every now and then. --Trovatore (talk) 20:10, 21 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

indigenous history needs to be added[edit]

Semi-protected edit request on 27 December 2023[edit]

Change "Root beer is a sweet North American soft drink traditionally made using the root bark of the sassafras tree" to " Root beer is a sweet North American soft drink traditionally made using the root and bark of the sassafras tree" This is because 1) It is unsourced that they use specifically the outer bark of the root and 2) It is sourced how they use the root AND bark of the sassafras tree, and one can see how the mistake of "root bark" can be made. 3) looking at recipes online for root beer using actual bark, they all state to use the whole root, not just the bark of the root. Qwemep (talk) 05:45, 27 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made.  Spintendo  07:42, 27 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Suggest Root Beer page merge under Sarsaparilla page.[edit]

Root beer looks to be a regional variety of Sarsaparilla and should probably be merged. A subsection detailing the flavourings and adulterants used in USA formulations can be made. Kommando (talk) 12:56, 21 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Manufacturing process[edit]

The article mentions the common ingredients but doesn't really provide information on how root beer is manufactured nowadays. Does it undergo a brewing / fermentation process like normal beer or is it prepared like other soft drinks, i.e. by simply mixing water, sugar and flavors. --2001:871:22B:9A5E:111:2A2D:7D23:C2DE (talk) 23:49, 15 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
