Overuse of the Word Chef...

[edit]

This article over uses the word "Chef" in reference to Thomas Kellers early career. According to the Kitchen Bregade established by Georges-Auguste EscoffierHistory of Kitchen BrigadeOne is only refered to as Chef when he is the leader of a kitchen. Think of of the kitchen brigade like the military, the Chef is the General, the Sous Chef is a Seargent, and the line cooks and prep cooks are the privates. Does everyone here agree that Thomas should be refered to as a cook in refrence to his early career before he established his own restauurant?--SteppaStyle 16:27, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Coffee And Doughnuts

[edit]

Whoever wrote the article for TK refers to the famed Coffee and Donuts dessert as being served alongside a "demitasse of espresso". To my knowledge, and this can confirmed in the French Laundry cookbook, it's a semi-freddo, no? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by GilloD (talkcontribs) 20:59, 6 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

French Laundry section and Food and Dining subsection

[edit]

I would like to add the following to the French Laundry section: In April 2009, Keller became engaged to longtime girlfriend and former general manager at the French Laundry, Laura Cunningham.

I'd also like to add the following to the Food and Dining subsection: Keller is set to open another branch of Bouchon Bistro and Bouchon Bakery in Beverly Hills in the fall of 2009. The source for both of these is FoodGal.com. Are these cool to add? Looking forward to feedback. Thanks! Rosestiles (talk) 15:47, 30 April 2009 (UTC)rosestiles[reply]

New personal information about Keller from a Sonoma County paper

[edit]

This article talks about Thomas Keller and his relationship with his father and slightly goes into his relationship with Laura Cunningham. http://www.pressdemocrat.com/article/20091101/LIFESTYLE/911011020# Ruth E (talk) 09:19, 3 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

What exactly is this? I found several references to the same cross-posted press release saying he's won this award since 2001, but I don't see a valid reason to include it, since it's not connected to a reliable source. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.91.151.114 (talk) 02:13, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Went ahead and removed the link. Fine to replace it, but I'd prefer to have some sort of information about what this award is before it gets posted again. --64.91.151.114 (talk) 02:18, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

why was he famous for what he made I removed "The Complete Keller" as an additional publication to which Keller has contributed, as it is in fact simply a boxed collection of The French Laundry and Bouchon cookbooks, which are mentioned immediately prior. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.130.118.120 (talk) 05:59, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
