Construction was started on December 29, 2009, and was completed by April 5, 2015. Testing commenced in May 2015[1] before being officially opened on June 26, 2015.[2] Total journey time between the two termini is 40 minutes.[3] It is 77.786 km (48 mi) long, of which 9.648 km (6 mi) is shared with the Beijing–Guangzhou railway and 68.138 km (42 mi) of new trackage.
