経歴

幼少期を南アフリカで過ごし、9歳でイギリスに移住。劇作家としてキャリアを積み、2022年7月現在までに8冊の小説を執筆。なかでも﹃Swimming Home﹄︵2011年︶と﹃ホットミルク﹄︵2016年︶はマン・ブッカー賞の最終候補作品となっている。

2018～2019年、コロンビア大学フェロー。短編集﹃Black Vodka﹄︵2013年︶がフランク・オコナー国際短編賞の最終候補作に残った。
