Qaina (Classical Mandaic: ࡒࡀࡉࡍࡀ) is the ninth month of the Mandaean calendar.[1] Mandaeans practice light fasting on the first day of Qaina.[2]
Qaina, which literally means 'reed',[3]: 210 is the Mandaic name for the constellation Libra.[1] It currently corresponds to March / April in the Gregorian calendar due to a lack of a leap year in the Mandaean calendar.
