Raspberry Pi︵ラズベリー パイ︶は、ARMプロセッサを搭載したシングルボードコンピュータ。イギリスのRaspberry Pi 財団︵非営利組織︶とRaspberry Pi Ltd︵営利組織︶によって開発されている。日本語では略称としてラズパイとも呼ばれる[4]。

2012年の立ち上げ当初は教育で利用されることを想定して制作された。IoTが隆盛した2010年代後半以降は、安価に入手できるシングルボードコンピュータとして趣味や業務︵試作品の開発︶等としても用いられるようになった。その後 Raspberry Pi Compute Module を商品に組み込む用途まで広がっていき、2023年は売上の72%が産業・組み込み市場となっている[5][6]。

概要[編集]


Raspberry Piは、かつてイギリスで教育用コンピュータとして普及したエイコーン社の﹁BBC Micro︵1981年︶﹂の再来として、学校で基本的なコンピュータ科学の教育を促進することを意図している[7][8][9]。Model A、Model Bという名称もBBC Microに由来しており、サポートされるコンピュータ言語の中にはBBC Microで利用されたBBC Basicも含まれている。

ハードウェア的にはエイコーン社のCPU部門︵Acorn RISC Machine、略してARM︶が独立したARM社の開発するARMプロセッサを搭載している。また、エイコーンのオペレーティングシステム (OS) であるRISC OSも、Raspberry Pi用がRISC OS Open Limitedより公式リリースされている。 内蔵ハードディスクやソリッドステートドライブを搭載しない代わりに、SDメモリーカード︵SDカード︶またはmicroSDメモリーカード (microSD Card) を起動および長期保存用ストレージに利用する[10]。 STEM教育の一環として本製品以外にも、ArduinoやIchigoJam、M5Stack、Obnizなどが見られる。

2012年2月29日発売からの累計出荷台数は2013年10月31日までで200万台[11]、2014年6月11日までで300万台[12]、2015年2月18日までで500万台[13]、2015年10月13日までで700万台[14]、2016年2月29日までで800万台[15]、2016年9月8日までで1,000万台[16]、2016年11月25日までで1,100万台[17]と、年間約230万台のペースであった。

その後、累計出荷台数は、ペースが上がり、2018年3月14日までで1,900万台[18]、 2019年12月14日までで3,000万台[19]、 2021年1月21日までで3,700万台[20]と 年間約600万台強の直線的な増加を記録した。

その後、累計出荷台数は、2021年5月12日までで4,000万台[21] 、2021年9月22日までで4,200万台[22] 、2021年11月16日までで4,300万台[23] 、出荷開始からちょうど10年間経過の2022年2月28日までで4,600万台[1] を記録。

2021年10月20日、世界的な半導体不足により、Raspberry Pi の供給不足および一時的な値上げを発表[24]。2022年4月4日、再度、供給不足の状況を説明し、商品に組み込んでいるなど産業用で必要な企業を、家庭用よりも優先すると発表[25]。2022年12月12日、2023年第2四半期から生産数が回復し、2023年第3四半期から在庫がある状態に戻る見通しであると述べた[26]。2023年6月1日、2023年7月から月産100万台に回復できる見通しであると報道された[27][28]。

製造企業[編集]


ハードウェアの設計は英国Raspberry Pi Ltdが行い、製造はRaspberry Pi Ltd自身と、Raspberry Pi Ltdから製造権を供与されたelement14︵Premier Farnell社︶が担当している︵2022年まではRSコンポーネンツ社も製造を任されていたが、2022年にRaspberry Pi Ltdより契約を解除された[29]︶。この2社から製品の供給を受けた各国のリセラー︵日本ではBAKS、スイッチサイエンス、DigiKey、KSY、Mouser Electronicsの5社[30]︶によって製品が販売される。いずれのメーカーも実際の製造はソニーグローバルマニュファクチャリング&オペレーションズ社に委託されている[31]。2022年現在、ほとんどの製品が英国内の工場︵ソニーペンコイド工場、ウェールズ︶で製造されているが、日本向けモデルの一部は日本国内の工場︵ソニー稲沢テック、愛知県︶で製造されている[32]。2021年現在はRaspberry Pi Picoを稲沢テックで製造中[33]。

なお、Raspberry Pi 3は64ビットに対応した初のモデルだが、Raspberry Pi 4の発売まで公式OSであるRaspbianは32ビット版しかリリースされていなかった。

Raspberry Pi 400[編集]


キーボード一体型のRaspberry Pi 400が存在する。キーボードの配列はJP/US/UKの3種。性能はRaspberry Pi 4 Model Bとほぼ同じだが、メモリは4GBのみで、CPUクロックは1.8GHz(4Bもオーバークロックは可能)。[74]

Zero[編集]


Zero は Model A, Model B よりも小型で安価で端子の数が少ない。Wは無線搭載、Hはピンヘッダが実装済み。

Compute Module[編集]


Compute Module は産業用の組み込み向け。端子などは付いていないが、開発用には Compute Module IO Board が販売されていて、ボードには端子が取り付けられていて、ボードに Compute Module を挿して使用する。端子の種類が異なるサードパーティーのボードも多数ある。

端子の有無を除くと Compute Module 4 は Raspberry Pi 4 Model B とほぼ同じだが、USB 3.0 ではなく PCIe が搭載されていて、サードパーティーのボードによってはこれを M.2 にしていて、SSD やモバイル通信のモジュールやAIアクセラレータ[83]などを挿せる。

産業用ではあるものの、1個単位で個人でも購入できる。

Pico[編集]


2021年1月21日、マイコンボードの Raspberry Pi Pico を発表。価格は$4。[91] デュアルコアの Arm Cortex M0+ プロセッサ︵最大 133 MHz で動作︶、2MBのフラッシュメモリを搭載し、26のGPIOピンを備えている。[92]通常のRaspberry Piシリーズがシングルボードコンピュータであるのに対して、Picoはマイクロコントローラである。

2022年6月30日、ピンヘッダを実装済みの Raspberry Pi Pico H、無線接続が可能な Raspberry Pi Pico W、その両方の Raspberry Pi Pico WH を発表。Hが$5、Wが$6、WHが$7。

カメラ[編集]

Python 用のライブラリとして picamera があったが[100]、現在は Raspberry Pi Ltd が picamera2 を開発している[101]。

HAT[編集]


HAT は Hardware Attached on Top の略で、GPIO の所に載せるアドオンボードのこと[102]。2023年に後継の HAT+ が制定された[103]。以下の HAT や HAT+ が販売されている。

●Raspberry Pi M.2 HAT+ - Raspberry Pi 5 用で PCIe 2.0 1レーンの M.2 を利用可能にする。形状は 2230 と 2242 に対応。[104]

Raspberry Pi AI Kit は M.2 形式の Hailo-8L を使用したAIアクセラレータ[109][110]。Raspberry Pi M.2 HAT+ と併用して使用する。Hailo 側から発売されている M.2 形式の Hailo-8 も Raspberry Pi では動作する[83]。

オペレーティングシステム[編集]

2012年2月19日、ラズベリーパイ財団はSDカードから起動できるオペレーティングシステムのSDカードイメージを発表した。イメージに含まれるOSのRaspberry Pi OS(旧称:Raspbian)は"Debian GNU/Linux release 8.0 (Jessie)"に基づいており、LXDEデスクトップ環境とChromiumウェブブラウザ[111] に加えて、様々なプログラミングツールを初起動直後使用できる。また、このOSはRaspberry Pi だけでなく様々な他のプラットフォーム上でエミュレートできるように QEMU 上で実行できる[112]。この他、Arch LinuxとFedora、Ubuntu MATEなどもサポートされている。

ラズベリーパイ財団は、その後、カナダのセネカカレッジで開発された[113] Fedora バージョンをリリースする予定[114]。財団は、プログラムをやりとりするためのアプリケーションストアを開設予定。

Raspberry Pi OSは標準でソフトリアルタイムシステムとなっているが、ユーザーモードプログラムでのハードリアルタイム性能が必要な場合はlinux-rtカーネルを入れることもできる[115][116]。また、ベアメタル︵OS無し︶で使用することも可能[117]。

Mathematica[編集]


2013年11月21日、Raspberry Pi Foundationは、数式処理ソフトである Mathematicaのサブセット版及びその記述言語であるWolframをRaspberry Piの標準イメージ環境であるRaspberry Pi OSに向けて無償提供することを発表した[118][119]。Raspberry Pi 1の性能から、2013年現在の典型的なパソコン上で動作させた場合と比較して、10〜20倍遅いとしている[118]。Remote Development Kitを使い、コーディング等を行う外部コンピュータと、実際にMathematicaを実行するRaspberry Piを接続するインタフェースが提供されている[118]。GPIO を使えるなど専用の命令も用意されている[120]。2014年8月1日より、Mathematica 10 を提供開始[121]。
