Tribe of Saber-Toothed Tiger (alt account)(joke account)
Much like my feline friend, Pasha

For in his morning orisons he loves the sun
      and the sun loves him.
For he is of the Tribe of Tiger.

Although my edit count entitles me to be “A Tutnum”, I make so many small, incremental edits, that I think I should be a “Half Tutnum”, in keeping with my WikiGnome status! WikiGnomes are rather short in stature.

A few facts...

[edit]

References...I actually like to read them! At this point, much of my editing is wiki gnoming to format, reFill or rescue citations. I like the challenge of hunting for sources to resolve missing citations. Editing for grammar, spelling and sentence clarity is also a favorite. I'm not doing very much actual composing, just now, because I'm hunting and pecking on an iPad.

I was born the same year this territory became a state. So when I vacationed there many years later, it seemed most appropriate to go swimming in my birthday suit; once on this beach, and numerous times on another one. Thankfully, cell phones did not have cameras, at the time. This city, which was the site of a well-known Civil Rights Movement sit-in, is my birthplace.

Some good work

[edit]

Articles where I have edited well...

Rock and Roll! Yes, some silliness!

[edit]
"Let me take you baby, down to the riverbed. I've gotta tell you something that will go right to your head"....Spirit (band)
..."I've got a LION on you, baby, got a line on you, babe"....Jeff Healey, Blackfoot, love their Spirit (band) cover. RIP, Randy and Jeff!
A beautiful creature, relaxing..."Take it easy, don't let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy". Eagles Yes, my curly tail is actually a wheel!

More Rock and Roll!

[edit]
Definitely chillin'. A creature from my neck of the woods! "In the jungle, the quiet jungle, the opossum sleeps tonight"...
Carrying my babies!

A lovely Leopard: I'm just hanging out, but if you want to cause trouble, "Let's Bungle in the Jungle", it's alright by me...Jethro Tull

Humor on the Wiki

A few of my favorites, spotted through the years....

At the Teahouse

[edit]

Why do u guys have to ruin our fun — Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.255.13.111 (talk) 17:27, 7 March 2018‎ (UTC)

Because we're awful, terrible people, who really only set up this site in the first place to attract vandals so we could annoy them. GMGtalk 17:28, 7 March 2018 (UTC)
I cannot speak for the group, but I ruin your fun because I take riotous relish in your disappointment. I live for the ecstatic high that is correcting factual information. Your pain, my friend, is the field in which I frolic, and even the most verbose vocabulary is unable to adequately explain just how must joy I derive from reverting vandalism. Every edit is a sign that I, and that all those who defend this bastion of human knowledge, am winning, and ruining the fun of those who seek to demolish this great enterprise brings sheer joy, like that of a kestrel in flight. So, my friend, fall, gall thyself, and gash gold-vermillion, for there are but three mere constants in this celestial voyage we label life - death, taxes and editing spoilsports. Stormy clouds (talk) 17:58, 7 March 2018 (UTC)
Poetry on the Teahouse. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 21:01, 7 March 2018 (UTC)
Word! Many words! Lovely words! (I think I will save this somewhere.) Thanks, @Stormy clouds:. With respect, Tribe of Tiger Let's Purrfect! 23:14, 7 March 2018 (UTC)

It is now crystal clear that [...] has taken a flying leap over the bar of WP:NOTHERE and is enthusiastically setting out for the outer rim territories of time-wasting tendentious editing. Their complaints that started this thread have little, if any merit. Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 16:44, 19 October 2020 (UTC)

Bishzilla

[edit]

It isn't often that I chortle with glee, while reading WP. But the appearances of Bishzilla make me laugh aloud!

Ohh, the raptures... her graceful snout, her fiery eyes, her learned and idiosyncratic discourse! She brings joy to the hearts of all who love her, and worship from afar. (Like *really* far away, those flames look dangerous!)

With gratitude, Tribe of Tiger

Proper English, from Fish and Karate's talk

[edit]

Hi buddy, yes, I can speak english fluently. Which specific part is not understandable? greetings.--[[User:Sarmiento 007|Sarmiento 007 ([[User talk:Sarmiento 007|talk 12:33, 23 March 2018 (UTC)

@Sarmiento 007: The following bits of your edit were not written in accurate, understandable English:

The very poor English above makes me wonder whether there's a language issue, which would explain things. And the two references you provided are blogs. Blogs are not reliable sources I'm afraid. I'm being very patient here, and I appreciate you are just trying to help, but the edit really didn't improve the article, it made the article worse. fish&karate

Dude, I really appreciate your help, thank you very much, and for your information, Trafalgar Law can divide (split) the parts of the body of the people. You would understand it if you would see One Piece. Hugs, buddy ;) . --[[User:Sarmiento 007|

Burma Shave

The jingle that won
the deep pharma drama
is the jingle that spun
the llama karma

sorry, I couldn't resist Atsme Talk 📧 21:44, 11 August 2020 (UTC)

While attempting to find the above, I received this reply, on Atsme's talk:

Ah, yes, Burma-Shave No. 6439123, found here. Lev!vich 02:09, 27 August 2020 (UTC)
@Levivich:, yes, that's it! Many blessings and may the wheel of your llama karma turn smoothly towards rebirth. Perhaps as a giraffe?
Perhaps a giraffe
might think it a gaffe
to turn on the wheel of karma
But a llama, it seems
is a long ago dream.
An effect of too much pharma?
Burma-shave

A first effort...Many thanks! (I wrote the above, as a reply.)

Edit warring poem

[edit]

To war, or not to war
That is the question
Whether tis nobler in the mind
To suffer the slings and arrows launched by a fool
Or take Arms against a Sea of deletions
And by restoring, oppose them.

What men think

[edit]

Being any of these does not give you automatic notability

[edit]

Now, for my "Textile Artist" rant...

[edit]

So, now, let us consider. Imagine that for one day, the entire US had to do without the products created by "English Professors" over the past 50 years, OR the products created by "textile people" (they don't even have to be "artists") recently or over the past 50 years. Say we chose to do without textiles. No sheets, towels...everyone walking about stark naked, and mostly barefoot. No carpet or drapes, or Kevlar vests. Many books would simply fall apart, without some form of textile to hold them together, on the covers and spines. Sailboats couldn't sail. How would a hospital manage without textiles? And now, what about COVID-19 masks, many of which are constructed of textiles? Tribe of Tiger Let's Purrfect! 02:44, 7 May 2021 (UTC)

Wise words

[edit]

When you must use inline citations

[edit]

Extended content

Wikipedia's content policies require an inline citation to a reliable source for only the following four types of statements:

Type of statement Policy requiring inline citation
Direct quotations Wikipedia:Verifiability
Any statement that has been challenged (e.g., by being removed, questioned on the talk page, or tagged with {{citation needed}}, or any similar tag) Wikipedia:Verifiability
Any statement that you believe is likely to be challenged. Wikipedia:Verifiability
Contentious material, whether negative, positive, or neutral, about living persons Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons

Other policies, notably the copyright violations policy, prohibit the inclusion of some information, such as too-close paraphrasing, even if the material is supplied with an inline citation to a reliable source.

Our sourcing policies do not require an inline citation for any other type of material, although it is typical for editors to voluntarily exceed these minimum standards. Material not supplied by an inline citation may be supported with WP:General references or sources named as inline citations for other material. If you can't find the source of a statement without an inline citation after a good-faith look, ask on the talk page, or request a citation.

Technically, if an article contains none of these four types of material, then it is not required by any policy to name any sources at all, either as inline citations or as general references. For all other types of material, the policies require only that it be possible for a motivated, educated person to find published, reliable sources that support the material, e.g., by searching for sources online or at a library. However, it is rare for articles past the stub stage to contain none of these four types of material.
